This module explores how legacy industrial systems can be integrated with modern Industrial IoT architectures. Learners will examine key protocols such as OPC Classic and OPC UA, understand edge device architectures, and evaluate the roles of PLCs and SCADA systems in IIoT data flow. Practical scenarios illustrate how data is exchanged and managed from the factory floor to the cloud.

This module explores practical strategies for implementing cybersecurity in industrial control networks, focusing on the use of firewalls and network segmentation. Learners will examine different architectures for network separation and understand how to secure edge devices using OPC DCOM and OPC UA protocols.
