Build secure virtual infrastructure with enterprise security, virtualization, and IT monitoring skills.
Learn data center protection, vCenter cluster security, ESXi hardening, encryption, compliance, and Nagios XI monitoring.
This Specialization prepares learners to secure, configure, and monitor modern enterprise IT environments. You will begin by applying data center security principles, managing compliance requirements, supporting incident response, and implementing security policies using Microsoft System Center tools.
You will then build a secure vCenter environment by configuring shared storage, virtual networking, clustered resources, and hardened ESXi hosts. Practical activities cover password policy enforcement, virtual machine encryption, vMotion encryption, and role-based access management.
The final course develops enterprise monitoring skills using Nagios XI. You will monitor Windows and Linux systems, websites, FTP services, and network ports while configuring discovery, notifications, downtime schedules, dashboards, and reports.
By completing the Specialization, you will be able to integrate infrastructure security, secure virtualization, compliance controls, access management, and proactive monitoring into resilient IT operations. Product names are used solely to identify the technologies covered in the learning activities.
Applied Learning Project
Learners will complete hands-on projects that simulate securing and operating an enterprise data center, including configuring System Center security controls, hardening vCenter clusters, applying VM encryption and role-based access, and deploying Nagios XI monitoring. They will use these skills to identify risks, enforce compliance, detect incidents, and maintain resilient virtual infrastructure.
