Learn the inner workings of operating systems without installing anything!
This course is designed for learners who are looking to maximize performance by understanding how operating systems work at a fundamental level. The modules in this course cover segmentation, paging, swapping, and virtual memory.
To allow for a truly hands-on, self-paced learning experience, this course is video-free. Assignments contain short explanations with images and runnable code examples with suggested edits to explore code examples further, building a deeper understanding by doing. You’ll benefit from instant feedback from a variety of assessment items along the way, gently progressing from quick understanding checks (multiple choice, fill in the blank, and un-scrambling code blocks) to slowly building features, resulting in large coding projects at the end of the course.

This course covers a wide range of topics surrounding memory management and provides past and up-to-date examples of them. However, I found it hard to follow the contents because the course kept throwing around acronyms and concepts that were never clearly outlined (e.g. "the VM subsystem").

Worst course I have ever done. There are so many errors, which I have industry experience so I can notice these issues, think that sounds wrong, google it and find it is, but first time learners will be taught the wrong thing. In parts not coherent. And the most annoying issue is questions where the wrong answer is accepted, and then in the comment that appears after providing the wrong answer, it outlines a different answer (the actual right one, which if you choose it says wrong and try again).
This course should be reported to Coursera. These issues are regularly pointed out (I'm not the first), with the staff doing absolutely nothing to fix them.
